Welcome To
Leatherwood Christian Church

Dark-Background
“God is light; In him there is no darkness...”

[1 John 1:5]

The Leatherwood Christian Church was founded in 1830 as one of the early members of the Restoration Movement.  This is a Bible-based and Christ-centered religious movement which proposes that all Christians, and all who desire to become Christians, submit themselves completely to the Lord Jesus Christ, taking the New Testament as the standard for doctrine and conduct.

Where the bible speaks, we speak; where the Bible is silent, we are silent. We don't claim to be the only Christians, but we are Christians only.

WHAT WE BELIEVE

FAITH

"I can do ALL things through CHRIST,
who strengthens me."

[Phillippians 4:13]

We Believe:

  1. Jesus Christ is the Son of God and the Savior of the world.

  2. The Bible is the inspired Word of God and is the guide for our lives.

  3. The local congregation is independent and runs its own affairs under the direction of its own leaders and is not subject to any higher organization or officers other than the teaching of the Bible.

  4. We have no creed but the Bible. Human creeds are divisive.

  5. The only form of baptism that fits all Biblical requirements is total immersion and it is necessary for salvation.

  6. We partake of the Lord’s Supper every Sunday as did the early Church. (Acts 20:7)

For a person to be saved, they must:

  1. Have FAITH in Jesus Christ. (Hebrews 11:6; John 1:12)

  2. REPENT of his sins. (Acts 17:30; Acts 2:38

  3. CONFESS his faith before men. (Romans 10:9, 10; Matthew 10:32)

  4. Be BAPTIZED for the remission of sin. (Acts 2:38; John 3:5)

  5. STEADFASTLY lead the Christian life. (Revelation 2:10 & 21:7)
